The Response
The 4-1 loss to Manchester City will no doubt sting, but how Guardiola’s side pounded the Gunners into submission was frightening. It was a blast from the past, as Arteta’s Arsenal hadn’t been rendered rudderless like that for a while.
Picking themselves up after a defeat like that will take some doing, as Arsenal simply wasn’t at it against a rampaging City side.
With five games to go, the Gunners wouldn’t want their season to end without a whimper. They need to keep their foot on the gas until the very end.
We will get a good idea of the mental fortitude of this side against a poor Chelsea outfit.

Can Arsenal keep pressure on City?

While City are top of the league by a point with a game in hand, Arsenal can make life a little uncomfortable for them. A win over Chelsea would move the Gunners back to the top of the league, still forcing City to win their remaining games.

For most, the title is now out of reach for this young Arsenal side, but anything can happen in football, and the Gunners must be there to capitalize on any mistakes.

The only thing the club can do is force City to win their remaining games and put the idea in the players’ minds that any slip-up will be taken advantage of. It is a small thing, but in football, you never know what’s around the corner.
<!—pageview_candidate—>">
