4. Emmanuel Petit

Petit’s time at Arsenal came to an end before the unforgettable 2003/04 season but he was enough of a figure at the club to become a legend.

His work as a midfielder for the Gunners won some serious trophies as well as a World Cup in ’98. His left foot made for some incredible highlight-reel passes and he established a brilliant relationship with compatriot Patrick Vieira in the middle of the park.

There was a reason Arsene Wenger signed him at two different clubs, Petit was a player he could rely on to build a really solid framework in his early days at Arsenal. Arsene showed a lot of faith in the Frenchmen to be able to make the jump from defender to midfielder and his patience paid off as he’s fourth on our all-time list.
