Takehiro Tomiyasu – 7/10 – Scored Arsenal’s fifth goal late into injury time, his first-ever goal for the club. This was the cherry on top of an outstanding day at the Emirates.
Leandro Trossard – 7/10 – Was a constant threat down the left-hand side and dare we say it, looks to have overcome his injury issues?
Reiss Nelson – 6/10
Fabio Vieira – 7/10 – Slotted home the penalty, which he won. Nketiah later revealing he let Vieira take the spot kick.

Fabio Vieira then converted a penalty that he had won after a lengthy VAR review. Takehiro Tomiyasu scored his first goal in an Arsenal shirt to add a fifth deep into extra-time.

It was a game that the Gunners fully expected to win against a team that has been struggling this season. Mikel Arteta’s men performed very well, not allowing any clear-cut chances against David Raya and flowing freely in attack.

As an Arsenal fan, there really was not much to complain about. Arteta made some changes to the starting lineup, particularly in midfield, where he left out Martin Odegaard. Emile Smith Rowe and Kai Havertz were both handed starts. It was a pleasure to watch Smith Rowe from the start, although he had a quiet game.

The result will give the squad a lovely bit of confidence heading into a week of intense competition with an EFL Cup, a Premier League, and a Champions League game upcoming. The Premier League unbeaten streak continues!

Arsenal 5-0 Sheffield United: Player Ratings

Here are the Arsenal player ratings from their 5-0 win over Sheffield United.

Goalkeeper & Defenders

David Raya (GK) – 5/10 – It wasn’t the busiest of afternoons for David Raya as Sheffield United didn’t even get a shot on target. Played a fantastic through ball to Gabriel Martinelli with a wonderful side volley.

Ben White (RB) – 7/10 – Ben White’s performance was another very consistent one, both in attack and defense. He showed off a beautiful piece of skill in the first half.

William Saliba (CB) – 6/10 – Easy day out for the Frenchman. As comfortable and composed as ever, Saliba was never troubled by a Sheffield United attack and could always dribble or pass his way out of trouble.

Jakub Kiwior (CB) – 6/10 – Good performance from the young centre-back who was preferred to Big Gab. Passed the ball very well and positioned himself where he needed to be.

Oleksandr Zinchenko (LB) – 7/10 – Back to his usual performance levels. Zinchenko exerted control over the Sheffield United low block, creating problems with his intelligent passing. Defended well when needed.

Midfielders

Declan Rice (DM) – 7.5/10 – Another top performance from Declan Rice. Very involved in the Arsenal build-up, also got forward and contributed offensively. It was a nice assist for the first goal, and he was very solid in his positioning, allowing Arsenal domination.

Emile Smith Rowe (CM) – 6/10 – His first start in the Premier League since May 2022. Showed glimpses and flashes of what he was capable of without contributing to a goal. Overall, a tidy performance and was unselfish in his play.

Kai Havertz (CM) – 6/10 – Similar to Smith Rowe, a good performance but a quiet game. Put in a tackle that was met with loud cheers from the Arsenal fans. Shame he didn’t get a goal but an encouraging outing overall.

Forwards

Bukayo Saka (RW) – 7/10 – It was a forward’s day at the Emirates. Saka looked more like his old self, threatening often but somehow not managing a goal contribution. I really enjoyed seeing him pop over to the left at times, something we haven’t seen him do much of recently.

Eddie Nketiah (ST) – 10/10 – His first Premier League hat-trick with two goals of elite quality and a great poacher’s finish. What more could you want from Arsenal’s No.14? Hopefully, it will give him a lot of confidence for upcoming games. His first goal, in particular, was special, almost Berkgamp vs Newcastle-esque.

Gabriel Martinelli (LW) – 8/10 – Martinelli was a menace all afternoon, carrying the ball beautifully. His pace continues to be a massive problem for any defense, and Arsenal doesn’t look the same without him.
