Selling Partey once seemed an unfathomable possibility, but the midfielder’s dire end to the current campaign has put his place at the club under threat.
Arsenal are interested in signing two midfielders this summer, one of which will undoubtedly be able to perform at the base of midfield, whether it be Declan Rice or Moises Caicedo. Jorginho has outshone Partey in recent weeks, and the Italian’s superior play in the build-up has seen the Ghanaian succumb to the bench.
While the 29-year-old played such a pivotal role in Arsenal’s rise this season, reports have emerged regarding a potential sale to Italy. With Jorginho performing well and new recruits bound to come in, the Gunners could cash in on Partey this summer.
If a reasonable offer comes in, I expect him to depart.

<p>It’d be a shame to see him depart given the majesty he displayed for the club in 2021, but if Arteta doesn’t trust the crafty midfielder, then there’s no point in having him around. Hopefully, he takes to the field on Sunday and forces a rethink.</p><!—pageview_candidate—>">
