Who could Arsenal sign to strengthen the squad with a couple of days remaining in the summer transfer window?
There are still a few holes that Mikel Arteta has to fill in his squad before the transfer window slams shut. For many, another midfielder and potentially another winger will help ease Bukayo Saka’s workload.
Given the club’s finances, as they have already secured the signings of Gabriel Jesus, Oleksander Zinchenko, Marquinhos, Matt Turner and Fabio Vieira, it is unknown how much Arsenal has to spend.
We could see a similar situation to January when the Gunners tried to secure Dušan Vlahović. After their efforts went in vain, Arsenal simply left it until the summer and acquired Jesus.
With that being said, the Gunners need at least one more signing before 2 September.
What are three moves Arsenal could make before the window closes?
1. Youri Tielemans
The one player that the club has been consistently linked with since day one. However, the Gunners have so far baulked at the Foxes’ £35-40m valuation of the midfielder, especially when he will be available for free next summer.
Arsenal could easily wait up until the last hour before making a move to force Leicester’s hand but they could do also something similar to Vlahović and simply leave it until next summer.

However, given how the Gunners struggled against Fulham without Thomas Partey, another midfielder like Tielemans would help alleviate the reliance on the Ghanaian.
He possesses everything Arteta wants in his midfielders, and a move could materialise late in the window, and many argue that this is the one deal that simply needs to happen.

<h2>2. Mykhaylo Mudryk</h2>
<p>The 21-year-old winger has emerged as a late target for Arsenal as an <a title="Arsenal Transfers: Pedro Neto move now unlikely before summer deadline" href=https://paininthearsenal.com/2022/08/30/3-moves-arsenal-could-make-before-the-deadline/"https://paininthearsenal.com/2022/08/29/pedro-neto-move-arsenal-looking-unlikely/" rel="">alternative to Pedro Neto</a> as the Shakhtar Donetsk star has all the attributes needed to succeed in the Premier League.</p>
<p>He possesses excellent technical skills, has pace to burn, and is as creative as they come. In 11 games last year, he registered six assists and two goals.</p>
<p>https://twitter.com/afcstuff/status/1564274766089003008?s=20&t=gTp4gE5kr_1wAJgXJj4yjA</p>
<p>Just how much he will cost remains to be seen as Everton recently had a €30m verbal proposal rejected last as per Fabrizio Romano, so the Gunners will likely have to fork out more than the Toffees’ offer.</p>
<p>A new winger is needed as Bukayo Saka is at serious risk of being burnt out as he played every league game last season and has played all four so far. Whether this deal gets done will largely depend on which way Mikel Arteta wants to go.</p>

<h2>3. Marco Asensio</h2>
<p>The 26-year-old has reportedly been offered to the Gunners over the last few days. Having been linked with him a couple of years ago, Marco Asensio could be a move that Mikel Arteta could make.</p>
<p>https://twitter.com/Ekremkonur/status/1564163204191866882?s=20&t=gTp4gE5kr_1wAJgXJj4yjA</p>
<p>He is equally adept at playing across the front three and has primarily been deployed on the left and right flanks while at Real Madrid, so he could be a viable option for Arteta as a backup to Saka.</p>

<p>He is in a similar mould to Martin Odegaard and Fabio Vieira, as he is more comfortable being the creative hub for his team. That might give Arsenal second thoughts, but adding a player of his quality, as we saw with Odegaard, could work out very well.</p><!—pageview_candidate—>">
