2. Added motivation
Following Arsenal’s early success before the restart of the league, the motivation that it gives the squad and backroom staff will be extremely beneficial. Arsenal were forced to dig deep for a late equaliser and their subsequent victory on penalties stands them in good stead for the upcoming campaign when the going gets tough.
After lifting the Shield, Arteta and his side will be craving more silverware and winning moments this season. The Gunners’ last notable success came over three years ago when we beat Chelsea in the FA Cup final. Now, Arsenal may go out with more fight and hunger to win these trophies as they start to expand their trophy cabinet.
The win could be a catalyst for an already expanding winning culture.

2-0 victory in the FA Cup during the 2019/20 season. Due to Arsenal’s inability to beat Man City for multiple years, they have always felt inferior when going into games and it has been evident from their previous performances that despite looking to compete with the Sky Blues, they haven’t quite believed they can overcome Pep Guardiola’s side.

Now, as the Premier League gets underway and Arsenal aim to compete for the title again, they will have more of a belief that overcoming City is possible. This belief after already having completed the objective is undervalued by fans and it does have a true psychological impact on the players.

3. Welcome to the club, fellas!

During this summer transfer window, Arsenal have made three new additions to the squad, all of whom started in the Community Shield. Just weeks after they joined, Kai Havertz, Declan Rice, and <a title="Why Jurrien Timber has to be included in Arsenal’s strongest XI" href=https://paininthearsenal.com/2023/08/08/3-reasons-arsenal-community-shield-win-significant/2/"https://paininthearsenal.com/2023/08/07/why-jurrien-timber-included-arsenal-strongest-xi/" rel="">Jurrien Timber have already tasted success and bonded with their new teammates over the arrival of silverware to north London.

This win will make them feel more connected and united with one another, creating a stronger bond when tough moments arise.

Arteta is renowned for his mementoes and ideas of things around the training ground to build a stronger connection around the club. For example, the boss got the players’ families to write a message to help the Gunners win the league. This is just one of many ideas the Spaniard has had to enhance the family aspect within the club. With this, Arteta will naturally be a big fan of winning this shield and will stress the importance of the fact that they won as a united team.

New faces and more possible incomings will be exposed to the idea of winning in red and white early during their time in north London because of this win. It will set a positive precedent for the players and psychologically, it will give the players more ambition and motivation, either consciously or subconsciously. If players have a taste of success from the starting weeks of their time at a new club, it would be natural to chase the next high of lifting a trophy and will push them harder during matches, in training and in everyday life.

So whether the trophy should count as a real one or whether it should have the same equivalence to a U10 summer tournament triumph at your local park, it is undeniable that winning the Community Shield is so much more than receiving a silver plate. Sunday’s victory is a preamble to bigger and better things to come at this historic and successful club, which has left everyone involved excited for the times ahead.
<!—pageview_candidate—>">
